The Cere Network Community (on Telegram) had the honor to host an exciting AMA with Bree Yin, CMO of Darwinia Network. This AMA is the follow-up of the recently announced collaboration between Cere Network and Darwinia Network.

The Cere Team started the AMA with in-depth questions followed-up by an open question moment in which community members of the Cere Network had the opportunity to raise their hands.

The questions ranged from Darwinia’s current and future business intentions, roadmaps, partners, and an update about their latest sophisticated technical developments.

For all stakeholder’s conveniences, we have displayed all questions and answers from the AMA in this article below.

**please note that some answers are fragmented because we copied the original message from Telegram

Introduction

Cere Team:

Welcome all to the Darwinia X Cere AMA! Today we will introduce you to Darwinia Network. We are happy to have Bree Yin, CMO of Darwinia Network, with us today.

Bree Yin:

Hi guys!

Bree Yin:

Thank you for having me and Darwinia will give away 3000 RING rewards to the Cere community! Great to have been working with our friends at Cere!

Cere Team:
So a couple of weeks ago we announced the partnership between Cere and Darwinia. We hosted an AMA in the Darwinia channel but we also wanted our community to have the chance to ask questions about the partnership and learn more about Darwinia. To provide our community with some more in-depth information about Darwinia and the partnership, I will ask a couple of questions before we open up the gates again and let our community join the AMA.

CERE NETWORK HOST QUESTIONS

Q: Cere Team

What is Darwinia?

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia has been building a permissionless non-custodial bridge protocol, featuring efficiency, low cost, decentralization of cross-chain tokens and NFTs transfer, as well as other cross-chain operations.

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia bridge solution integrates technologies, including super-light client, zero-knowledge, and optimistic verification mechanisms.

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia bridge distinguishes it from other bridges in terms of quality and how decentralized the bridge is, which could carry high-value cross-chain asset transmission.

Q: Cere Team

What role does Darwinia play in the Polkadot ecosystem?

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia connects Polkadot and other public chains. As the “Golden Gate Bridge’’ for the cross-chain networks, Darwinia provides the safest heterogeneous cross-chain solution without middlemen, making the cross-chain asset transfer safer, cheaper and more frictionless.

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia also bridges other Polkadot ecosystem parachains cross-chain interoperability to achieve more broad asset circulation.

A: Bree Yin

They are also able to focus more on their business applications but not building repeated direct bridges on their own. Darwinia serves as the bridge center in the Polkadot ecosystem

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia is also going for the parachain auction.

A: Bree Yin

starting from Kusama.

A: Bree Yin

Now is ready to connect to Rococov1 parachain test.

A: Bree Yin

Recently, Polkadot Founder also interacted with us on Twitter.

Q: Cere Team

What makes Darwinia different from other bridge projects?

A: Bree Yin

On every blockchain, Bitcoin, and Ethereum, the trustless feature has been inherent to the transaction.

But when it comes to cross-chain, everything seems to go back to the start point. So many cross-chain pioneers like us, have been researching and creating, with an unwavering passion to disintermediate many of the middlemen, many of the institutions and authorities, removing the need for that much of the trust.

But how much trust have we removed?(Bree)

For example, when you transfer 100 ring from Darwinia to Ethereum first, you have to lock your ring on Darwinia and mint the same amount of mapped ring on eth.

When you redeem your tokens from Ethereum to Darwinia, locked rings on Darwinia have to be unlocked, mapped rings on Ethereum have to be burnt

In general, we are facing 2 major challenges:

How to verify cross-chain transactions in a trustless way;

How to control the lock and unlock operations of assets in a trustless way.

Would you like it to be a bunch of middlemen? Or a completely trustless and decentralized way? (Bree)

Of course the second one, but for the mainstream cross-chain solutions, still, the custodian federation is involved, much trust is needed.

Less Trust, More Truth. Our tech innovation upgraded the classic chain relay solution. Classic chain relay requires relaying each and every block, which is not economically feasible.

Darwinia ChainRelay is a super-light client, it integrates cryptography technology MMR to make sure each confirmed block header is aware of the history chain state.

It also implements an internal optimistic verification game process to identify the longest chain. It supports relay on demand which is triggered by a cross-chain transfer requester.

It’s economically feasible and completely trustless. With such an efficient chain relay, we are able to build two-way decentralized bridges across turning completed blockchains.

Except for all these above, another exciting advantage of the Darwinia bridge chain is supporting the cross-chain transfer of NFTs as well.

Q: Cere Team

What is the roadmap in 2021 for Darwinia?

A: Bree Yin

Q: Cere Team

How is Darwinia going to work with Cere to flourish the DeFi ecosystem?

A: Bree Yin

As part of this partnership, Darwinia will also join the SaaS-DeFi alliance, which is set to establish universal protocol standards for the Enterprise DeFi space and improve communications between the enterprises and the DeFi ecosystem.

Darwinia will provide the bridge service to more DeFi projects in the alliance, supporting their asset circulation in more blockchain networks, wire together walled blockchain networks to build the Web3.0 future blockchain networks.

Darwinia will also utilize Cere’s Decentralized Data Cloud for its customers, given that Cere’s tooling can be extended to any Polkadot/Substrate based network.

With Darwinia technology, Cere is also able to extend its products, data and assets to an expanding number of other blockchains.

The integration of Darwinia’s Golden Gate bridge with Cere’s Enterprise ecosystem is expected to be launched in Q2 2021.

Q: Cere Team

What has Darwinia been working on lately?

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia 2021 milestone

The Progressive Launch of Darwinia Mainnet has reached the third stage: the bi-directional “Darwinia-Ethereum Bridge.”

Darwinia Virtual Machine

To achieve a seamless Ethereum experience on Polkadot and Substrate, Darwinia delivered a smart contract solution based on Frontier, we name it Darwinia Virtual Machine(DVM). DVM is a compatible implementation of EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) in Darwinia Network with compatibility on the smart-contract level, and also supports Metamask.

We also launched a testnet Pangolin for Dapp developers who want to test and play with DVM. As a bridging hub, any blockchain network connected to Darwinia can obtain cross-chain access to any other Darwinia connected networks without building direct bridges repeatedly on its own. Its main application areas include DeFi, cross-chain NFT trading market, games, etc.

Community questions:

Q by: Shannon Lisanna:

As far as I know, BTC is a pioneering great cradle for spectacular development projects. Bear markets and bull markets are always fighting each other, so will $RING swing at times? What and where to build $RING?

A: Bree Yin

Huobi global, Uniswap, MXC, Gate, Hoo, Biki, etc.

Q by: Test Teste

I was wondering, what is the use of the KTON cross-chain token?

A: Bree Yin

KTON is our commitment token.

KTON is essentially a derivative token of RING, which encourages long-term lock and commitment. RING staking participants can lock RING for 3–36 months and get KTON as rewards, compensating for the liquidity loss.

Simply Stake RING to mine KTON.

KTON can be staked again, also with higher rewards.

Q by: Moon Lord

As an industry hot spot right now, a lot of people are looking at #DeFi, #Games and #NFT combined, how has $Darwinia reacted to this. What will $Darwinia do to keep up with this trends, is there anything new for the Darwinia team in this area?

A: Bree Yin

Main applications of Darwinia tech innovations are DeFi, Games and NFT

For example, our Gamefi mining system Furnace.

Q by: Shadow Walker

How can Cere community members participate in Darwinia’s developments?

A: Bree Yin

Just join our channel and apply for Darwinia Ambassadors.

Q by: Green Dragon

Each project has interesting stories before it was founded. So can DARWINIA tell other stories that motivated you to build and develop a great project like yours?

A: Bree Yin

Darwinia worked with Polkadot quite early. When Gavin Wood came to China. Darwinia held a Polkadot China Tour. Darwinia also paid attention to DeFi quite early.

Our game evolution land integrated Uniswap in 2019 when DeFi was unknown to most people.

Think about how much UNI airdrop our community fans have got.
